Makati City (Philippines) Observance of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction 2023

This October 13, Makati City will again hold the 6th Family and Community Resilience Fair with the theme “Transforming Makati’s Vulnerable Sectors into vulner(ABLE) Actors of Resilience. The Fair will showcase gamified and creative activities for disaster risk reduction and management designed with the vulnerable sector in mind and with various stakeholders in the city like the academe, civil society organizations, private sector, etc.

The City will also host a holistic game for students from elementary and secondary through the Brain O’lympics on 9 - 10 October 2023. A study visit participated by German DRRM practitioners will discuss gender-sensitive and inclusive personnel development for first responders from 16 - 20 October 2023. Last but the least, the City Government will also conduct a consultation workshop for vulnerable sector to ensure an inclusive and responsive disaster risk reduction and management in Makati on November 2023.
