The UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction issued a new report “International Cooperation in Disaster Risk Reduction” which highlights low levels of investments in disaster prevention and disaster risk reduction for the world’s most vulnerable countries
13 October is International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction. This year the theme is Only Together. The focus is on enhancing international cooperation to developing countries. The reminded of the value of working together to deliver flood resilience investments.
The focus of this year’s IDDRR is “Substantially enhance international cooperation to developing countries through adequate and sustainable support to complement their national actions for implementation of the present Framework by 2030.”
In 2021, the IDDRR focus is on Target f: “Substantially enhance international cooperation to developing countries through adequate and sustainable support to complement their national actions for implementation of the present Framework by 2030.
The IDB has expanded its longstanding partnership with the Government of Japan through a partnership amendment signed with the MOF and a new MOC with the JICA.
