Fund Resilience: Youth Action for Cambodia's Climate Future
Time
2:30 PM - 4:00 PM (GMT+7)
About
The webinar will feature expert insights and discussions built around two critical, interlinked topics:
- Urban Resilience & Funding: A segment led by an Urban Planner focusing on the critical link between disaster risk mitigation, financing for resilience, and the personal and professional role of practitioners in this space.
- Youth Leadership & National Policy: A deep dive into how youth are leading on the climate adaptation planand their role in realizing the commitments of the Cambodian Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0).
The event is planned as an interactive online webinar featuring Cambodian experts in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). The session is designed to share specialized knowledge, promote the significance of IDDRR, and, most crucially, to amplify youth action in climate change and disaster risk management.
This event is directly aligned with the 2025 theme. By focusing on youth, we aim to increase awareness and knowledge of the key commitments related to resilience funding. Given our organizations' close work in climate change and urban development, educating youth on disaster risk is a critical factor for increasing resilience across the country.
We are aiming for a highly engaged audience, with an expectation that more than 30 Cambodian youths will join. The main goal is to transition participants into action by:
- Facilitating the sharing of their insights on their personal role in mitigating disaster risk.
- Inspiring active contribution and raising awareness for increasing the resilience fund across Cambodia.
