About

Access to resilience knowledge and actionable insights is more critical than ever. To strengthen the resilience of essential services and critical infrastructure-at personal, organisational, environmental, community-wide and planetary levels-we need to move beyond asking "what?" and focus on "how?".

The 1st Dutch-International Resilience Symposium will bring together experts, practitioners and community leaders to tackle this challenge head-on. Through keynote sessions and 13 interactive workshops, participants will co-create peer-reviewed, actionable recommendations-shaped into project proposals for real-world implementation.

As symposium co-organiser Eelco H. Dykstra, F.ISRM, puts it: "To have any hope of strengthening the resilience of critical infrastructure at any level, we need to shift our focus from 'what' to 'how'."

Target audience

Individuals and organizations involved or interested in resilience, emergency, crisis and disaster management from public entities, private sector, community-led initiatives, knowledge centers/academia, and NGO's

Expected outcomes

The outcome of this event is to collect actionable 'HOW?' recommendations from the panel discussion and 13 highly interactive workshops.

The HOW recommendations collected will be subjected to a peer-review process with the aim to convert them into project-proposals that are suited to be submitted for funding (for resilience instead of disasters) and implementation.
