How can households become safer and more resilient to disasters?

A select group of students, young people, and the young-at-heart explored resilience solutions for safer homes at the UNDRR’s Geneva Youth Festival on International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, 13 October.

Following the 2026 theme, “resilience starts at home”, the enthusiastic participants took on a hands-on role through games – table-top and on-screen –and VR-experiences, covering the last mile of disaster risk reduction – the point where risk information and early warnings become decisions and actions for every household.
