In an attempt to clarify key terms, and in keeping with its aim to bring coherence, alignment, and complementarity to the field of risk-informed early action, REAP has developed this glossary as a tool to support productive conversations around the topic.

This UNDRR-WMO joint report assesses the current global status of multi-hazard early warning systems (MHEWS) against Target G of the Sendai Framework, collating data officially reported by the Member States with data collected through a WMO survey.

In 2022, the International Day will focus on Target G of the Sendai Framework: “Substantially increase the availability of and access to multi-hazard early warning systems and disaster risk information and assessments to people by 2030.”

In 2021, the IDDRR focus is on Target f: “Substantially enhance international cooperation to developing countries through adequate and sustainable support to complement their national actions for implementation of the present Framework by 2030.

The focus of this year’s IDDRR is “Substantially enhance international cooperation to developing countries through adequate and sustainable support to complement their national actions for implementation of the present Framework by 2030.”
