Choosing our future: Education for climate action
Education is a key asset for climate action. Education reshapes behaviors, develops skills, and spurs innovation—everything we need to combat the greatest crisis facing humanity. Yet, education is massively overlooked in the climate agenda. Almost no climate finance goes to education. Channeling more climate funding to education could significantly boost climate change mitigation and adaption.
This report outlines data, evidence, examples, and a policy agenda on how to harness education and learning to propel climate action. Chapter 1 focuses on school education to generate climate change awareness and behavior change at scale. Chapter 2 focuses on tertiary education for green skilling. Chapter 3 discusses how to protect and adapt education systems in the face of climate change.
