This is a two day workshop to promote Target G of the Sendai Framework, by highlighting the importance of multi-hazard community-based early warning systems for high-risk communities in the City of Cape Town.

The two planned events are:

1. Community Capacity Building Programme - Demonstrating the application of drone technology in Disaster Risk Management, 12 & 13 October 2022.
2. The National Disaster Management Centre has collaborated with the City of Cape Town to coordinate and host South Africa’s 2022 commemoration of the annual International Day for Disaster Reduction (IDDR) on 13 October.

The country’s commemoration, taking place on 13 and 14 October 2022, will be a hybrid event - physically at the City of Cape Town’s Council Chamber and online.
