Resilient Week 20-26 October
GZ Oerlikon, Gubelstrasse 10, CH-8050
Recent crises - from the COVID-19 pandemic to energy shortages and people fleeing from conflict - have shown that purely top-down crisis management is not enough. Society must be more closely involved. With the Resilience Week, Stiftung Risiko-Dialog has developed a format that enables the City of Zurich to actively involve residents in crisis preparedness and response. The aim is to strengthen individual, community, and institutional resilience in neighborhoods and the city as a whole - through workshops, encounters, and practice-oriented formats that foster concrete preparation and collective thinking.
Resilience Week combines theory and practice in a wide variety of formats. These are designed for all age groups and life situations. Participants can actively engage and gain knowledge that matters in an emergency - and that also strengthens connections in everyday life. Example events include:
- Neighborhood walks focusing on urban emergency meeting points
- Workshop "No mobile phone - what now?": exploring everyday life during a power outage in both playful and serious ways
- First aid refresher course
- Conflict counseling: coping with stress and tensions in exceptional situations
- Workshop "Solidary prepping": how we can prepare together - from different perspectives
Resilience Week is not just a one-off event - it is part of a longer-term roadmap for a more resilient society and is also accompanied by scientific evaluation of its impact.
