About

In the context of marking the International Day for Risk Reduction 2022, it is our pleasure to invite you to the official launch of the Aston Crisis Management Centre on October 13th at 10:00 (Registration starts at 9:30).

The Aston Crisis Management Centre (based at Aston University, Birmingham, UK) is a research centre focused on the analysis of problematics faced by different stakeholders caused by disasters, crises, and disruptions. Our purpose is to provide support and design solutions that can be relevant in practice whilst being academically rigorous.

Join us on the day to learn from prominent speakers sharing their experience on business crises and disaster management. Two streams, Corporate Crises and Disaster Management will run in parallel to allow attendees to join the most relevant talks to them. If you would like to join us for the full, in-person event, please sign up here. If you would prefer to attend online to hear from some of our speakers and the panel, please sign up here. A full agenda is attached; highlighted sessions are part of the in-person and online launch.

For those attending in-person, there will be opportunities to network with representatives from other companies, organisations, and researchers interested in the area during the breaks and lunch. The event will close at 15:30, but you are welcome to stay afterwards for some canapes, coffee and further networking.

The event is completely free, lunch will be provided, and it will take place in Room 1 of the Conference Centre at Aston University. Instructions about getting to the University are available here and detailed instructions about the venue will be sent to registered participants.
