King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences marks the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction 2025
In observance of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (IDDRR), the Continuing Professional Development Center under the Deanship of Postgraduate Education in collaboration with the Department of Emergency Medical Services at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS), organized an awareness event under the United Nations theme for 2025:
"Fund Resilience, Not Disaster " and local slogan "Be Ready Stay Safe."
The event aimed to enhance awareness, preparedness, and resilience within both the academic community and the broader public by emphasizing proactive investments in risk reduction and emergency readiness.
The comprehensive program featured educational lectures, interactive workshops, and realistic field simulations focusing on disaster management and emergency response. Participants engaged in hands-on training through realistic injury simulations and triage exercises, reinforcing teamwork and decision-making under pressure.
Additionally, several local organizations participated through informative exhibits highlighting initiatives in disaster risk reduction, public safety, and emergency response. These exhibits played a key role in fostering community engagement and promoting a culture of preparedness and resilience.
Through this initiative, KSAU-HS reaffirmed its commitment to community service and national efforts to build resilience, aligning with 2030 Saudi Vision and the UNDRR 2025 campaign's call to invest in systems, education, and capacities that prevent disasters and protect communities.
