This event will convene local leaders from the smallest administrative units in the Philippines to forge stronger collaboration in advancing the resilience agenda and to showcase their respective barangay's good practices in the fields of environmental protection, climate action, and disaster risk reduction.

This forum also commemorates the 32nd anniversary of the passage of the Local Government Code of the Philippines which recognizes local government units as the frontliners for disaster risk reduction. It aims to empower local action and build capacity at the local level to ensure a strategic and coherent approach to integrating disaster risk reduction with climate change adaptation measures despite challenges such as limited resources.
