We're delighted to announce a Creative Contest on the theme ‘Fighting Inequality for a Resilient Future’ to commemorate the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (IDRR). The event is conducted and organised by the Centre of Excellence in Disaster Management (CoEDM) at the Development Management Institute (DMI), Patna, Bihar with a series of creative competitions designed to address this year's theme of the IDRR: "Fighting Inequality for a Resilient Future." This Contest aims to sensitize and generate awareness among the masses for disaster risk reduction.

If you have creative skills in Photography, Poster Making and Essay Writing, this Contest provides a platform to showcase your talent and win rewards. Your work will not only get you accolades, but it may serve as an awareness-generating tool for DRR initiatives in the state.

Cash prizes to be won are:

  • 1st - 11,000
  • 2nd - 7,000
  • 3rd - 5,000
  • Two consolation prizes of Rs. 1000 each

Guidelines for Submission

  1. The Contest is open to people of all age groups and skill levels
  2. Only original creative work shall be accepted. At any stage of the competition or post the competition, it is found that it is not a creative work of the contestant, the prize may be withdrawn with disqualification from the contest.
  3. The opening date for receiving the entries for the Contest is 15th September 2023
  4. Only one submission in one category (Photography, Poster and Essay) is allowed from one contestant. Multiple submissions are not allowed; it will result in disqualification from the contest.
  5. The winners shall be required to submit the original copy of their entries to the CoEDM, DMI.
  6. CoEDM, DMI  reserves the right to display and promote the winning entries; copyright stays.
  7. Last date to submit entries is 30 Sep. 2023. Entries after that will not be considered.
  8. Submission is only allowed through the Google form.

Any other means of submission shall not be considered as an entry for the contest.

File Specification for Photography

  1. Format: JPEG or PNG
  2. Size: Under 5 MB
  3. Include a title with a 100 word description, it must assimilate a clear image, symbols, and colours that could convey the message clearly.
  4. Minimum 1920 pixels on longer side
  5. Metadata: Add name, email, location, and Social media handles (LinkedIn, Facebook etc.)

File Specification for Poster

  1. Format: JPEG or PNG
  2. Size: Under 5 MB
  3. Include a title with a 100-word description, it must assimilate a clear image, symbols, and colours that could convey the message clearly.
  4. Metadata: Add name, email, location, and Social media handles (LinkedIn, Facebook etc.)

Essay

Essays should be in 800 to 1,200 words, excluding titles and references.

It should be submitted in Hindi or English only.

It should in PDF Format.

  1. Include a separate title page with your full name, email address, contact number, and essay title. This page will not be included in the word count.
  2. Font and Spacing: Use a legible font (e.g., Times New Roman, Unicode) and double-spacing with 1-inch margins.
  3. Citations: If you use external sources, provide proper citations and a bibliography following a recognised citation style (e.g., APA).
  4. Any form of plagiarism will result in disqualification.
